to the Perigord and the Bordeaux Vineyards
Built on the Dordogne
banks (Dordogne also called the River of Hope), Ste Foy la Grande is an
attractive town at the crossroads of 3 departments : Dordogne - Gironde
- Lot et Garonne. Rich in its medieval heritage, Ste Foy la Grande is
a french fortified town of the XIII century. Take time to explore the
charming streets where half-timbered houses mix with Renaissance style
mansions.
The quays and the harbor of Port Ste Foy show that the trade traffic on
the Dordogne was very intensive until the arrival of the railway. The
town has always been a centre of culture and traditions since the Middle
Ages and a land of welcome for new visitors. The famous colourful and
lively market, on each Saturday, is listed among the best in the country.
The finest Gastronomy and the Art of Wine are all around you.
